It was a massive rally on Tuesday, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) embarked on a mega rally to drum up support for its Chairmanship candidate in Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba, her running mate, Hon. Kabir Femi Kareem and Councillorship candidates, as the Local Government elections draws closer.
The polls are slated for Saturday, July 12, across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State.
The APC Councillorship candidates in Ijede LCDA are Hon. Basirat Kehinde, Hon. Mustapha Agbabika, Hon. Saka Adeleke and Hon. Temilade Akinyemi
The apex APC leader in Ijede LCDA and two – terms Chairman, Hon. Saheed Adefarasin Hassan and the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, Lagos State House of Assembly Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) and other leaders, led the charge as the mega rally kicked – off at Gbodu junction with hundreds of APC members and residents and a long convoy of vehicles walking behind the leaders and candidates.
The massive campaign train moved from Gbodu junction with different sounds blazing from every direction of the campaign from trucks, band sets and traditional musical groups that accompanied them, as they passed through Oke Eletu, and Abule Eko, causing huge traffic and defying the ceaseless rainfall, to canvass for the APC and its candidates.
Souvenirs like exercise books and water bottles were shared to students, while bagged rice, hand fan, and other campaign souvenirs were shared to residents along the route.
The APC candidate, Hon. Gbadebo – Alogba, addressing the mammoth crowd, thanked them for the massive support despite the rainfall, describing it as a show of love that is encouraging and inspiring.
“To the resilient, loyal, and courageous people of Ijede, I am deeply moved by your overwhelming support at today’s mega rally. Despite the rain, you came out in large numbers, standing strong, walking with us, and showing the world what unity, loyalty, and true love for community look like.
“Your presence under the rain was not just encouraging, it was inspiring. Your voices, your steps, your smiles, they spoke volumes”, she said.
She urged them to continue to canvass and ensure that residents of Ijede, turn out in large numbers for the Saturday’s polls and vote for all the APC candidates.
“This journey is not about one person, it’s about all of us. Together, we are building a better, stronger, and more prosperous Ijede.
“Thank you for believing. Thank you for showing up. Let’s carry this same passion into the polls on July 12th and together, we will win!”, she assured residents.
Also speaking, Hon. Aro Moshood, also commended Ijede residents and entire members of the ruling party, for the overwhelming support.
He charged them to continue with the support and repeat the same with greater energy on the day of the elections by ensuring that all the APC candidates do not only emerge victorious but record massive votes.
